Must-Have Home Canning Supplies

Buying home canning supplies has been on my mind a lot lately. My husband, John, planted a variety of vegetables in our garden beds a few months ago, and we have been harvesting like crazy for the last couple of weeks. We only had one garden bed last year, and it produced so many vegetables that we could not even keep us with them all. This year, we added on two more garden beds, and we are planning to can a lot of our garden haul. We planted quite a few different vegetables, but I think I am most excited about the tomatoes. Last year we had SO many tomatoes, and we actually planted even more this year. They haven’t ripened yet, {CONTINUE READING…}

KitchenIQ Makes Meal Preparation Faster & Easier!

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for KitchenIQ. I received promotional items to thank me for my participation. I really enjoy making delicious home-cooked meals for my family, but dinner time in my house is always crazy.  My husband, John, gets home from work around 5:00 most nights, and the kids (2.5 and 8 months old) turn into wild animals.  To save our sanity, we try to get both of them in bed by 7:30, so that doesn’t leave a whole lot of time to prepare and eat dinner. Usually I’m rushing around the kitchen like a mad woman, trying to get everything done.  Trying to prepare dinner with a whining baby and toddler hanging {CONTINUE READING…}

How to Freeze Cookie Dough

Thank you to Hefty for sponsoring today’s post. You may also like – 50 Christmas Cookie Swap Recipes I love baking around the holidays, but this year I’m super pregnant, and didn’t want to wait until the last minute to get my holiday baking done.  I already had enough stuff to take care of in the days just before Christmas – attending a family Christmas party, addressing and mailing out Christmas cards, wrapping Christmas gifts, cleaning my house for guests. I had decided to make my cookie dough a couple of weeks ago, and freeze it until I needed it.  It saved me a bunch of time and energy this week, and baking the cookies out of the freezer was {CONTINUE READING…}

Baking Up Spring Goodies With Hamilton Beach {+ A Giveaway!}

Disclosure:  I received a 6 Speed Stand Mixer and  Soft Scrape 6 Speed hand mixer from Hamilton Beach in exchange for my honest review and opinion.  John and I moved into our new home recently, and we’ve been doing a lot of work around the yard to spruce it up a bit.  I just love springtime, and all that it has to offer.  We’ve been hard at work planting flowers, and have enjoyed watching the beautiful birds and butterflies in our yard.   We had some rainy days last week, so I didn’t get to spend as much time as I wanted to outside.  I didn’t let that get me down, though!  I recently received a 6 Speed Stand Mixer and Soft Scrape 6 {CONTINUE READING…}
