Am I setting a good example for my kids? Am I making the best decisions for them? Am I spending enough quality time with them? The questions seem to never end. There is always a new one lurking at the back of my mind. There is no handbook for parenting. Everyone’s kids and parenting styles are different, and we all just have to do what works best for us and our families. I would love to say that we should not be so hard {CONTINUE READING…}

Spicy Cauliflower ‘Potato’ Salad

This is a sponsored post for Colman’s. All opinions are 100% my own. Cauliflower seems to be all the rage lately, and I have totally jumped on the bandwagon! I use cauliflower in place of rice and potatoes all the time. I even recently made a cauliflower ‘hummus’. It was delicious, and surprisingly, very similar to regular hummus! With summer just around the corner, I am now thinking about how to use cauliflower in my favorite summer salads. It’s such a versatile vegetable that can be used so many ways. I can’t wait to experiment with it some more and see what other fun recipes I can come up with. I have always loved potato salad, but my husband and {CONTINUE READING…}

Lemon Garlic Garden Veggies

This is a sponsored post through the Mom It Forward Blogger Network. I received compensation from Tessemae’s, however, all opinions are 100% my own.  One of my favorite things about summer is having an abundance of fresh vegetables from my garden. There is just something so rewarding about growing, picking and eating your own vegetables. It’s really quite a lot of fun! We have been so lucky with our harvest this year, and our garden is just bursting with zucchini, summer squash and tomatoes. I have been trying to come up with new ways to eat all of these wonderful fresh garden vegetables. John bought me a spiralizer for Mother’s Day this year, so we have been having quite a bit {CONTINUE READING…}

Rotini with Italian Sausage, Peppers & Onions

Pasta is always a huge hit in my house, and I love making it because it’s filling, easy on the wallet, and so versatile. It’s such a great comfort meal to make at home and share with your family. We have pasta a couple nights a week, and it never gets boring because it can easily be changed up by adding different meats, veggies and cheeses, and of  course, by choosing a different shape of pasta! Finding the right pasta sauce for your pasta dish is of the utmost importance. A bland or watery pasta sauce will totally ruin your meal, which is why I love to use Ragu’s Homestyle pasta sauce. My pasta dishes come out great every time {CONTINUE READING…}

Taco Pizza

I was browsing Pinterest for some lunch inspiration the other day when I saw a pin for a taco salad pizza.  I haven’t had a taco pizza for a while, and it really got me craving one.  There is a local pizza place here that I usually get my taco pizza fix from, but I’ve been trying to eat a lot healthier this year, and their taco pizza is anything but healthy.  First of all, they make it with a double crust, because their normal crust isn’t thick enough to hold up all of the toppings.  They pile a whole bunch of greasy ground hamburger, taco sauce, onions, green peppers, tomatoes, lettuce and Doritos.  The combination of ingredients is truly {CONTINUE READING…}
