Jalapeno Zucchini Cheddar Scones

These Jalapeno Zucchini Cheddar Scones are a delicious savory scone you can enjoy any time of day! It may be fall, but the weather here in Maine has been screaming “Summer’s not over yet!” this week. It actually got up to 90 degrees here yesterday, and my husband and I were completely regretting having already taken the air conditioner out of our bedroom when the temperature was still 81 degrees at 11pm last night. Even with the hot temperatures we’ve been having, I cannot get rid of this baking bug that I have. My mind is saying “It’s fall! Bake all the things!!” So, I’ve been trying to get any baking I want to do done during the early morning hours {CONTINUE READING…}

Naan Mexican Breakfast Pizza Recipe

I absolutely love Mexican food. I really think I could eat tacos and quesadillas every day of the week and be completely satisfied. There’s just something so amazing about that flavorful combination of salsa and melted cheeses, don’t you think? This morning, I was craving Mexican food before I even had my morning coffee, so I decided to use the Naan bread I had on hand to make a Mexican breakfast pizza. If you’ve never had a breakfast pizza before, you totally should. It’s hearty and satisfying, and a great way to start off the day. I love that you can put anything you want on it too! For this Mexican pizza, I used scrambled eggs, a medium salsa, shredded Monterey {CONTINUE READING…}

Pumpkin Spice Banana Oatmeal

It seems most people either love everything pumpkin spice or hate it with a passion. There’s always a war about it in my Facebook feed around this time every year, and people get very opinionated. I don’t really partake in the ongoing war, but I honestly could enjoy it all year round. I have even been known to make pumpkin pancakes for breakfast smack in the middle of summer, that’s just how much I love it. It’s a cool fall day here in Maine today, so this morning I made a Pumpkin Spice Banana Oatmeal for breakfast. Oatmeal is one of my favorite breakfast foods because it’s quick, easy, hearty and so versatile. You can pretty much add anything you want to it, and {CONTINUE READING…}

Blueberry Banana Oatmeal Bowl

Since I have started eating healthier at the beginning of this year, oatmeal has quickly become one of my favorite breakfast dishes. I used to think oatmeal was so flavorless and boring, but now that I have been experimenting with adding different things to it, I have realized just how amazing it can taste. It’s also really filling, so it keeps me from snacking on junk food all day long. I’ve made Tropical Overnight Oats, Pumpkin Spice Oatmeal, Dark Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Oatmeal and more! I browse Pinterest for new oatmeal ideas quite often, and I recently came across this Healthiest Bowl of Oatmeal recipe. This recipe featured oatmeal, blueberries, honey, greek yogurt and almonds. Oatmeal can often taste dry, so {CONTINUE READING…}

25 Healthy Breakfast Recipes

I have been eating a lot healthier since the beginning of the year, and I have to say, I am actually enjoying it. I have always loved to experiment with foods, so I have been browsing Pinterest for some great new ideas. One of the things I have loved most is searching for healthy breakfast recipes. Breakfast has always been my favorite meal of the day, but I was used to eating eggs cooked in tons of butter, toast slathered up with even more butter, salty bacon or sausage, thick pancakes coated in sugary syrup… not really the best choices for my waistline. Eating a healthy breakfast is now something I look forward to every day, and I have really {CONTINUE READING…}

Dark Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Oatmeal

I made a drastic change in my diet at the beginning of the year, and I’m proud to say that I have been doing very well! I have been eating so much healthier than I used to, and I haven’t even had a cheat meal yet. One of the things that I gave up at the beginning of the year was baking. I used to bake yummy, fattening treats all the time, and my biggest weakness was sweet breads and cookies. Oh, how I love both of those. As I was browsing Pinterest the other night, I came across a recipe for Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Oatmeal Cookies, and I will admit, I had to wipe a little bit of {CONTINUE READING…}

Try the New Chicken Apple Sausage Breakfast Sandwich from Dunkin' Donuts

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are 100% my own. My husband and I get super lazy on the weekends. After a long work week and struggling to get the kids to bed at a decent time every night, we are just tired and don’t want to do much of anything. Often times on a weekend morning, we will head out to Dunkin’ Donuts for breakfast. It’s fast, it’s tasty and there is no cooking required on my part. Bonus: no dirty dishes to clean after! I have been a fan of Dunkin’ Donuts for as long as I can remember, and I think I have probably tried just about everything on their menu at least once. It’s all {CONTINUE READING…}

Get Breakfast All Day Long at Dunkin' Donuts

This is a sponsored post for Dunkin’ Donuts through Blog Meets Brand.  All opinions are 100% my own. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day.  I love everything about it – coffee, eggs, ham, sausage, bacon, bread… it’s all so delicious!  I don’t reserve breakfast food for only the morning time, though.  There are many days when I love to have breakfast food for lunch or even dinner.  Yesterday, John and I headed out to town with the kids to run some quick errands.  We had a pretty busy morning of getting the kids ready to leave the house (it always takes hours for some reason!), so we did not have time to eat breakfast before we left. By {CONTINUE READING…}

Open-Faced Chili Cheese Breakfast Sandwiches

Here in the great state of Maine, we love our food, and we love to eat a lot of it.  We have to endure really long, cold winters, so we find warmth and comfort in hearty meals that keep our bellies full.  One of our favorite dishes is, of course, chili! We eat our chili many different ways here.  Some of the most popular ways are chili cheese dogs, chili-topped baked potatoes, and chili with cornbread, popovers, or biscuits on the side. I really enjoy all of these options, but I really do love chili paired with a light and fluffy biscuit the most!   I often keep Hormel Chili in my pantry, as it is so quick and easy {CONTINUE READING…}
