This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks/Prudential. Four years ago, I quit my full-time job as a paralegal to become a stay-at-home Mom. It was the first time in my adult life that I was not earning a paycheck. Instead, I was relying solely on my husband’s income. Not having any income of my own, or any money in savings, made me feel very uncomfortable and vulnerable. If anything had happened to my husband’s income during that time, I don’t know what I would have done. After we added a second child to our family and purchased our first home, I realized it was time for me to get serious about planning for the future. While I don’t like to think about bad things happening in my life, I know it is always best to plan for any curve-balls that might be thrown your way. You just never know what the future might bring. As [CONTINUE READING…]
This review was made possible by iConnect and Luvs. I was provided compensation to facilitate this post, but all opinions stated are 100% mine. Being a stay-at-home Mom, I am always looking for ways to cut costs and save money, especially when it comes to purchases I make for my kids. They are expensive! My kids outgrow their stuff so fast, and I don’t want to spend a ton of money on something they aren’t going to wear for very long, so I only buy clothes and shoes when they are on sale, and I accept as many hand-me-downs from friends and relatives as I can get. Whenever I shop online, I always shop through a “cash back” website to earn cash back on my purchases. Every little bit adds up! I got back quite a big chunk of money from the Christmas shopping I did last year. I earn a little side money through blogging and [CONTINUE READING…]
You NEED a Child Safety Kit! Do you have a child safety kit? If not, you should definitely look into getting one. In the United States and Canada, nearly 500,000 children are reported missing every year. Isn’t that a crazy and scary statistic?! It makes my heart sink just thinking about all of those poor children who have been torn away from the safe and loving arms of their parents. I can only imagine the pain and anger a parent must feel after this happens to them, too. I would just be beside myself if it ever happened to me. This post contains affiliate links and I may receive a commission if you make a purchase after clicking on a link in this post. As a parent, I am constantly worried that something bad is going to happen to my children. I try to keep my eyes on them as much as I can, but it’s difficult [CONTINUE READING…]
This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks/ Meta Appetite Control. It’s the beginning of a new year, and while most people start trying to eat healthier and lose weight this month, my husband and I decided to challenge ourselves and do something that only seemingly crazy people would do. We started our weight loss journey on November 12th, right before Thanksgiving and Christmas. Crazy, right? Even with all of the holiday temptations thrown at us, it honestly hasn’t really been too difficult, but there are still some times when I find myself struggling just a little bit. I have two toddlers at home who like to snack all day long, and I often find myself mindlessly putting a piece of this or a bite of that in my mouth without even thinking about it. I recently took the POPSUGAR Snack ID Quiz to find out what kind of snacker I am, and it’s really no surprise [CONTINUE READING…]

This post was developed in partnership with Tom’s of Maine. All opinions are my own. It’s a new year, and I know it sounds so cliche, but it’s a great time to start fresh, make some resolutions and work on improving certain areas of your life. This year, I will be working more on self-care. As a stay-at-home Mom to two toddlers, age 3.5 and almost 2, self-care is something I have let slide for quite a while now. When you’re wrapped up in all of the day-to-day activities of your kids, it can be hard to find the time or energy to take care of yourself too, but it’s so important. If you’re like me, you probably expend all of your energy taking care of everyone else, and just feel completely zapped by the end of the day. There are a few things you can do for yourself throughout the day, however, that will greatly [CONTINUE READING…]
This post is sponsored by the Voice of Play. Living in Maine, I am used to several months of cold weather each year. I’m not really a fan of the cold, but I know it’s really important and beneficial to still get outside for some fresh air during the cold months. So, I get the kids bundled up in their warm clothes and head outside to play! Some of our favorite fall and winter activities include throwing or kicking a ball around the back yard, playing a game of “chase”, going for a walk around our (large) yard, building a snowman, and so much more. Last year, my husband and I had so much fun pulling the kids up and down the snow-covered driveway in their snow sled. Not only was it a ton of fun for them, but it was great exercise for us! I’m thinking this year we will probably try to find [CONTINUE READING…]
