I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Little Remedies. I received a product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

Have you ever noticed, it seems like everyone wants to gift clothing at baby showers?  I get the appeal of gifting clothes.  I really do.  They are so incredibly cute and fun to shop for, and let’s face it, when you see that baby wearing the outfit you bought for them, your heart just melts.

While clothing is definitely a great gift idea for a baby shower, there are a lot of other gift ideas that are unique and sure to impress any Mom and the other baby shower guests too.

I remember one gift that really stood out to me at the baby shower I had when I was pregnant with my daughter, Kayleigh.  After opening bunches of clothes and more blankets than I could even keep track of, this one gift was like a breath of fresh air, something I had not yet thought of, and something that I was definitely going to need for my baby.  It was a gift basket containing a variety of Little Remedies® products, including their Gripe Water and Gas Drops.

Little Remedies products

I was so thrilled when I opened this gift.  I hadn’t even thought about the medicines I might need for my baby.  She wasn’t even born yet, so her being sick hadn’t crossed my mind at all.  I received this gift from one of my friends who was a fairly new Mom herself.  I felt like she had let me in on the biggest secret ever by giving me all of those Little Remedies® products.  She later told me that she had been using them with her son, and they worked wonders to help relieve his gas pains.

I didn’t have a baby shower when I was pregnant with my son, Logan.  I already had pretty much everything I needed on hand, from when I had Kayleigh, as I had purchased or asked for everything in gender neutral colors, so I could re-use them. I realized, however, that I needed to re-stock on my Little Remedies® products.  I ordered a really nice Little Remedies kit online, which included all of their most popular products, right in a handy little pouch.  It was one of the best things I could have bought.  I have already used the gas drops and gripe water with Logan, and they have helped to calm his belly.

Here are some additional tips to help calm a gassy baby’s tummy.

Gassy Baby

Little Remedies® products are made to support the health and well-being of infants and children.  They are made with the fewest and most natural ingredients without sacrificing the product’s effectiveness.  I try to keep things as natural as I can with my children, and feel safe using these products with them.  I love that their products do not contain any artificial flavors, artificial colors or alcohol and are created with the very specific needs of children in mind.

Little Remedies® Gas Drops

Little Remedies Gas Relief Drops

Quickly relieves tummy pain from excess gas. Safe remedy to gently ease stomach discomfort or bloating.

  • Relieves excess gas from food or swallowing of air
  • No artificial colors or flavors
  • No alcohol, saccharin or preservatives
  • Dosage can also be mixed with 1 oz. of cool water, infant formula or other suitable liquids.

Little Remedies® Gripe Water

Little Remedies Gripe Water

Eases tummy pain for infants. Natural, effective relief for your baby’s upset stomach.

  • Relieves discomfort due to hiccups and colic*
  • Safe, gentle formula
  • No alcohol or gluten
  • Be sure to burp your baby during and after feeding to reduce air buildup.

I loved the Little Remedies gift basket idea so much, that I now make my own to give away at baby showers I attend.  The Moms-to-be are always very impressed and excited by them.

When I make my Little Remedies gift basket, I do a little something like this:

Little Remedies Gift Basket

I buy a cute bucket to put everything into.  The bucket also doubles as a “sick bucket” for little kids.  Perfect!

Other items that can be included in this gift basket are a thermometer, nasal aspirator, tissues, a stuffed animal, cute bandages – really anything you think might be good to have on hand for a sick baby.

If you bring this gift basket to a baby shower, I guarantee it will be a huge hit!

There are so many great ways to bond with a baby. Below, I have shared my top five favorites!

The first few months with a new baby can be one of the most exhausting and difficult times in your life.  You’ve completely given up your social life, you’re getting little to no sleep, and awkwardly learning how to take care of this tiny human being as you go.

While these first months are so challenging, they are also very rewarding.  Finding ways to bond with a baby is such a wonderful experience, and it is so important to fully take advantage of, and cherish these precious moments, as they fly by all too quickly. This post contains affiliate links. I may earn a commission if you make a purchase after clicking a link in this post.
My son is 4 months old now, and we’ve had so much fun bonding and getting to know one another.  I just love it when he looks into my eyes, and gives me a great big smile.  There is nothing like it!  Here are some fun, and easy, ways to bond with a baby in those first few months.

5 Fun Ways to Bond with a Baby

1.  Babywearing – One of my very favorite ways to bond a baby, is by wearing them in a wrap or carrier.  When I wear my son in his carrier, I can keep him close to my heart, comfort him, kiss the top of his little head, look into his eyes, be aware of his needs, and more.  Logan also weighs an impressive 20 pounds at just 4 months old, so this also helps to keep my arms from falling off while holding onto him all day!

2. Play Peek-a-Boo – Logan is now loving the game of Peek-a-Boo.  His cute little face just lights right up when my hands move to expose my face.  He thinks it’s the greatest thing in the world, and I have so much fun playing with him. This is a super fun way to bond with a baby!

Play Peek-a-Boo

3.  Hold Hands – Logan loves to hold my hands, when I wear him in the carrier, while I’m feeding him a bottle, while he’s sitting on the floor in front of me, and at other opportunities he gets throughout the day.  He holds onto my fingers with all of his might, and hates to let go.  So, I just sit there and let him hold onto them.  I love knowing that he is so close to me, and doesn’t want me to leave him.  Soon there will come a day when he won’t want me around so much anymore.  Until then, I will cherish these days when he does. This is really one of my favorite ways to bond with a baby!

4.  Get Down on the Floor and Play – It is so much fun to get down on the floor and play with my son.  He is only 4 months old, and is already pretty mobile when I lay him down on the floor.  I get down on the floor with him, rolling a ball to him, or teasing him with other toys, trying to get him to inch a little closer to me.  This is a really great opportunity to bond, and to develop his motor skills as well.

5.  Sing a Special Lullaby – When I brought my daughter, Kayleigh, home from the hospital, I began to sing a special lullaby song to her every single night as I rocked her to sleep.  She is now 2 years old, and it is still her favorite song, and she still requests that I sing it to her before bed.  I have selected a different lullaby for Logan, and will do the same with him.  Years from now, when they are rocking their own kids to sleep, I hope that they will think of me, and will sing their kids our special lullaby songs.

Thank you Middle Sister Wines for sponsoring this post.

Growing up, my sisters and I weren’t very close.  I am 7 and 9 years older than them, so when I was in high school, and they were just little kids, I found them to be super annoying, and didn’t want anything to do with them.  They would sneak into my room and go through my stuff.  They would get together and plot against me.  I know now that they were just having fun, and that was their way of trying to be a part of my life.

Now that I am in my 30’s, my sisters are in their mid-20’s, and we all have kids around the same age, we get along better than ever.  They are my best friends, and I love to spend time with them.  We never need an excuse to get together.  We just enjoy each others’ company, no matter what we are doing.

Sometimes it really surprises me just how well my sisters and I do get along with each other, since we all have very different personalities.  Have you ever heard that birth order is commonly believed to have a profound and lasting effect on psychological development?  Well, that certainly rings true in our family!

Being the oldest child, I am super organized, a rule follower, a people pleaser.  I plan out everything I do way ahead of time, and I absolutely hate surprises (because I can’t have control over them and plan things out!).  I strive for perfection.

My middle sister, Angela, is always super relaxed, goes with the flow, and does things that make her happy.  She loves to be spontaneous and live in the moment.  In her younger days, she was also a bit of a trouble maker.  She would often break the rules and push my parents’ buttons.

My youngest sister, Amber, is a bit of a spitfire.  On the outside, she looks innocent and sweet, but she doesn’t ever hold back, and she tells it like it is.  If she is angry with you for any reason at all, she will let you know, and you won’t hear the end of it!

When my sisters and I get together, we like to do a couple of things.  One of those is to eat.  We are Italian, so we like to reconnect over our favorite foods.  We also like to drink wine.  Good food and good wine go hand in hand, and make for a great celebration of sisterhood.

We recently got together and shared a wonderful meal and some delicious Middle Sister Wine.  How fitting, right?

Middle Sister Wines are crafted by award-winning winemaker Nancy Walker (a middle sister herself), and include a wide variety of red, white and sparkling wines from California and Argentina.

The Middle Sister brand is based on a series of quirky “middle sister” characters who each claim their own varietal and personality. The various sisters, with personalities like Wild One Malbec, Drama Queen Pinot Grigio, Rebel Red, and more, are engaging and entertaining.

There’s a Middle Sister Wine for everyone!  The one I relate the most with, is of course, the Goodie Two Shoes Pinot Noir.

My middle sister, Angela, identifies most with Mischief Maker Cabernet Sauvignon.

My youngest sister, Amber, relates to the Sweet & Sassy Moscato.

All of the Middle Sister Wines we tried were so refreshing and delicious.  The Mischief Maker Cabernet Sauvignon went great with our steak dinner.

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Folgers. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

It’s no secret that I love coffee.  Now that I’m not pregnant or breastfeeding anymore, I am indulging more than ever.  It was a long 14 months, only being able to have 1 cup of coffee per day, especially when I felt like I needed the added boost of energy the most!

Now that summer is here, I have started drinking more iced coffee throughout the day.  It has that great coffee flavor I love, but it also helps to keep me feeling cool and refreshed all day long.

I’m not a very patient person, so making iced coffee at home was really quite a chore for me.  First I’d have to brew it, then throw it in the refrigerator or freezer for a while to cool off enough for me to put ice in it without it melting.  The waiting absolutely killed me!

The other option was to drive to the local coffee shop whenever the urge for iced coffee struck, but that gets to be pretty expensive, and with an infant and a toddler at home, it’s just not feasible for me to pack them both up in the car for a drive to get coffee.

When I first heard of Folgers Iced Cafe Coffee Drink Concentrates, I was super excited!  They are made with 100% coffee extract, only five ingredients and no sugar or preservatives, and deliver a customizable iced coffee experience packaged in a portable 1.62 fl. oz. squeeze bottle.

Folgers Iced Cafe Coffee Concentrates

Folgers Iced Cafe Coffee Drink Concentrates are available in 4 flavors – Original Latte, Vanilla Latte, Caramel Macchiato and Hazelnut Latte.  They are all fantastic, but I really do enjoy the Original the most.  Sometimes I even add a couple of squirts of chocolate syrup to give it a mocha flavor.  It’s so good!

Folgers Iced Cafe Coffee Concentrates

To make an iced coffee with Folgers Iced Cafe Coffee Drink Concentrates, simply pour 8 ounces of milk into a glass.  I use almond milk, but you can use whatever milk you prefer.  Then, add 2 squirts of the coffee drink concentrate, and some ice, and then you have an iced coffee drink, made right at home in no time at all!  Each bottle makes 12 servings, so you can either enjoy your delicious iced coffee with a bunch of friends, family, or co-workers, or make a lot of drinks for yourself!

This review and giveaway was made possible by Double Duty Divas and Pampers. I received product free of charge, but all opinions are 100% mine.

It’s really no surprise that babies have the ability to warm even the coldest of hearts.  They are so cute and cuddly, and just amazing in every way.  I mean, is there really anything better than holding a freshly born baby?  I don’t think so!  I just love to soak in that newness and that beautiful baby scent. Babies are so pure and innocent, and deserve the very best we have to offer them!

Having had 2 babies of my own, I have seen the great lengths other people will go to, to make life #BetterForBaby.  They will instantly grow silent when they realize a baby is napping.  They will endure hours of cheesy baby music to keep baby happy.  They will act like a complete fool to try to get a baby to smile or laugh.

Pampers, too, knows how important it is to make life #BetterForBaby, and that’s why they have launched the “Pampers #BetterForBaby Program” – a program that recognizes how babies have the ability to bring out the best in all of us and that is why we should do our part to make life better for them.

As part of their campaign, Pampers has released an absolutely beautiful video that celebrates all of the profound ways babies change the world around them for the better, and in turn asks families to pledge how they will make life #BetterForBaby. My husband and I saw this video for the first time while we were watching television the other night. It nearly brought me to tears! If you haven’t seen it yet, you can check it out below.

As the brand who supports the happy, healthy development of babies for more than 50 years, Pampers is committed to doing their small part to making life #BetterForBaby through their core brand commitments including: 1) protecting premature babies, 2) helping families in need through product donations, 3) preventing maternal and neonatal tetanus and 4) reducing their environmental impact.

At the launch of this program they also made a significant donation to some amazing charity partners (Graham’s Foundation, UNICEF and Feeding America) in recognition of their valued partnership in helping Pampers support the happy, healthy development of babies.

Pampers is also giving away some really great prizes during this campaign! One way you can win, is by attending the Pampers #BetterForBaby Twitter Party on Wednesday, July 8th from 9-10pm EST as they discuss how to make like #BetterForBaby! You can RSVP here: http://vite.io/iconnectim
