My little Logan loves to eat. At 7 weeks old, he’s already eating between 8 and 10 ounces per feeding! With all that eating, comes lots of messy diapers. Thankfully, Huggies has got me (and Logan!) covered with their new Snug & Dry Ultra Diapers, available only at Walmart.
The new Huggies Snug & Dry Ultra Diapers have a unique quilted liner to lock away wetness better, and the trusted Leak Lock® System has quick-absorbing layers for up to 12 hours of protection. Logan has actually been sleeping through the night for several nights now, so knowing that he has a supportive diaper that isn’t going to leak while he sleeps, keeps my mind at peace, and allows me to sleep, too!
Just as Huggies offers great support in a diaper, they want to offer their support in your community, too. Now through June 25, 2015, Huggies will be accepting all selfies of you and your baby, with the hashtag #UltraHug. Within your post, you should nominate a project in your community that could use some funding.
Huggies will feature these selfies in a collage on their campaign landing page. On July 6th, voting will begin to narrow down the 20 finalists to 10 winners who will win a $2,000 grant from Huggies for their nominated community initiative. Here’s a look at my entry to give you some inspiration:
The Maine Children’s Home for Little Wanderers provides a number of different services, including adoption assistance, mental health counseling, a teen parent school program, early education for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years, an overnight camp for 150 disadvantaged children each ear, and a Christmas program that provides new clothing, books, games and toys to underprivileged children in Maine. They could do a lot of good with $2,000.00!

My daughter, Kayleigh, is turning 2 next month, and let me tell you, the “terrible two’s” have been in full force for months now. She is such a smart little cookie, with a huge personality, and she knows exactly what she wants. When she doesn’t get her way, it’s not so pleasant around here.
Mealtimes are especially difficult in this house. Kayleigh is just like her Dad, in that she is a very picky eater. One day she will love something we ate, and then she will hate it the next time we have it. She is just a petite little thing, having been in the 5th percentile for weight every single time we have seen the pediatrician, so I am always concerned about her eating habits, and hoping that she is getting enough nutrients.
During those times when she refuses to eat anything I make for her, I know I can still have a “Win-Win Moment” with Gerber Graduates. Kayleigh has been eating Gerber Graduates since she was about 7 or 8 months old, and still loves them. Yogurt Melts are her absolute favorite, and she will eat an entire bag in one sitting if I let her!
The Gerber Graduates line of snacks was designed for the developmental and nutritional needs at each stage, from Crawler to Toddler 2+. There are lots of different varieties of Gerber Graduates to choose from. In addition to the Yogurt Melts, Kayleigh enjoys the Puffs, Grabbers, lil’ Crunchies, Bitty Bites, lil’ Whoos and more. We always keep a stash on hand, as they are great for eating at home, or on the go.
FREE GERBER GRADUATES GIFT SET (with purchase)
Now through April 30, 2015, when you purchase 10 Gerber Graduates products, you can get a FREE Gerber Graduates Gift Set, valued at $11.98!
After you make your purchase, simply visit https://www.gerberwinwin.com/, upload a photo of your receipt (all 10 products must be on the same receipt), and request your free gift set! I have already requested mine, and the process was super easy!
I’m a September baby, so when John and I decided to get married in our back yard 3 days before my birthday last year, I immediately knew that I wanted our wedding colors to be sapphire blue and white. Sapphire blue has always been my favorite color, and the fact that it is my birthstone probably has a lot to do with that.
While browsing the web recently, I saw an ad for the new Motorola DROID Turbo Sapphire Blue, and I want one so bad. I have had the original DROID Turbo for several months now, and I absolutely love it. This phone is awesome. It is super fast and responsive, the perfect size for me, and the camera is amazing. The fact that it now comes in my all time favorite color makes it perfect! This phone is so beautiful, and dare I say, sexy!! Sapphire blue is totally in right now, and this phone would make the perfect something blue for your wedding day.
Having a cell phone at your wedding may sound completely tacky, but it’s really not. These are the days we live in now. Pretty much everyone carries a cell phone with them at all times now. I thought it would be fun to actually use that to your advantage on your wedding day.
While it’s great to hire a wedding photographer to take photographs for your wedding, nothing can really compare to all of the awesome shots that you and your wedding guests could capture with cell phones. The DROID Turbo has an amazing camera on it and would be perfect for capturing all those fun moments.
You could get even more creative by assigning a hashtag to your wedding event, and asking your guests to Instagram their photos using the assigned hashtag. Imagine how much fun everyone would have!
In addition to having a great camera, the DROID Turbo Sapphire Blue has a sharp display, a 48 hour battery, amazing speed and performance, and you can get 8 hours of power in just 15 minutes with the Motorola Turbo Charger! That super fast charge is one of my favorite features of this phone. The DROID Turbo Sapphire Blue also has a water-repellent nano-coating and Corning Gorilla Glass that help protect it from spills and scratches. Its premium ballistic nylon backs offer rich blue color and texture but the phone is very lightweight and feels great in your hand.
You can also personalize how you interact with the DROID Turbo Sapphire Blue by Motorola, with Moto Experiences including Moto Voice, Moto Assist and Moto Display.
If you’re preparing for a wedding and looking for your “something blue”, or even if you’re not, check out the new DROID Turbo Sapphire Blue by Motorola. It’s all you could ever want in a phone, and so much more!

My not so little Logan just turned 6 weeks old! I can’t believe how fast the time is flying by. It seems like we just brought him home from the hospital yesterday. There are some days when I wish I could slow time down and keep him this small forever, and there are other days when I wish I could speed it up to a time when he is not quite so needy. These newborn days are especially hard now that I have a toddler to take care of too.
Overall, Logan is a very good baby. He really doesn’t fuss too much, except for when he is hungry or needs a diaper change. Other than that, he is pretty laid back. It’s a world of difference from his sister, Kayleigh, who was a very fussy baby.
Another huge difference between Logan and Kayleigh, is their size. Kayleigh was just a little peanut, and still is, while Logan is a very big boy. He weighed just over 10 pounds at birth, and now, at only 6 weeks old, he is wearing 6-9 month clothes and size 5 diapers! He certainly has an appetite to match, too. This kid LOVES to eat! He will sometimes suck down 8-10 ounces of breast milk in one feeding. It’s crazy!
When I was pregnant with Logan, I told myself that I would make an effort to breastfeed him, and to hopefully last longer than I did with Kayleigh. I only made it to three months with her before I gave up completely. I honestly hate breastfeeding with a passion, but I really wanted to give him the awesome benefits of breast milk.
When we first brought Logan home from the hospital, he wanted to eat constantly. About a week into it, and after a daunting 8 hour-long breastfeeding session, with almost no breaks, I had a major melt-down. I cried to my husband, and I vented to my Moms group on Facebook. I wanted my body back. I wanted to be able to take a break and to get some sleep. I was ready to quit breastfeeding already, and I felt super guilty about it. I felt like I had let myself, and Logan down.
The next day, after I had cooled off a bit, and after talking with my husband and some other Moms, I decided that I would try to pump exclusively, before giving up all together. That way, I would get my body back (well, sort of), John could give me a break once in a while, and I could still give Logan the advantages of breast milk.
Over the next few weeks, I gradually made the switch to pumping exclusively, and I am so much happier now. It took a bit of trial and error to find our rhythm, but things are going great for both of us now.
Transitioning a baby from breast to bottle can sometimes be difficult. Babies can become confused, and not take to a bottle very easily, so it’s really important to get a bottle that is designed to ease the transition from breast to bottle, like the Munchkin LATCH. Logan did very well with our transition, once we introduced this bottle to him.
Experts agree the best transition from breast to bottle occurs when bottle flow and mother’s flow match. The LATCH bottle was developed with Lactation Consultants and mimics a breast by releasing more milk as the baby pushes against the nipple’s base. The LATCH Stage 1 nipple flow is also specifically designed with a reduced rate to mimic the breast. Stage 2 and 3 are also available, and increase the flow as your baby grows and becomes more efficient at feeding.
The LATCH bottle also reduces colic without the extra pieces and parts that other bottles have. The accordion-style LATCH nipple flexes as baby moves his or her head, allowing baby to maintain latch while decreasing ingestion of air. The anti-colic valve located at the bottom of the LATCH bottle also allows for breast milk to flow while ensuring air bubbles don’t travel through, reducing gas and fussiness.
LATCH is available at Target and Babies’R’Us, but you can pick and choose your bottle size and nipple stage to perfectly suit your baby’s feeding needs exclusively on Munchkin.com. You can also save up to 15% off your LATCH bottle purchase when you buy more bottles on Munchkin.com!
In addition to these fantastic bottles, you can also purchase a set of Munchkin LATCH one-piece silicone pacifiers. The Munchkin LATCH pacifier was designed with pediatric dentists and moms, with a goal of developing a lightweight, more comfortable pacifier for baby. It also has a heart shaped shield that fits comfortably under baby’s nose.
Did you experience any challenging moments while feeding your baby?

My daughter, Kayleigh, is turning 2 years old next month! I can’t believe how fast the time has flown by. Having a newborn at home now, too, has really made me realize just how much she has grown. She is definitely not my little baby anymore. She is now this extremely bright, and very independent toddler.
With Kayleigh’s second birthday fast approaching, I know potty training is just around the corner. She is a very strong-willed child, so I really need to make this as easy as possible for both of us. Kayleigh is already showing some signs of being ready, such as bringing me a new diaper when she has wet herself.
To help with the potty training transition, I’m stocking up on Pampers Easy Ups. I’m choosing to use Pampers Easy Ups before training pants, because it can be confusing to toddlers to switch between diapers and training pants throughout the day and night.
Pampers Easy Ups can help the diaper-to-underwear transition by allowing potty-training toddlers to stop wearing diapers and wear something with more of an underwear-like design that still helps keep accidental messes off clothing, bedding and other surfaces no matter whether they happen at home, on-the-go or overnight.
Since I have a newborn at home to take care of, I really don’t have the time or energy to clean up accidental messes all over the house – shampooing carpets, mopping floors, washing bedding every day. That sounds like an awful lot of work that can be spared just by using Pampers Easy Ups for potty training!
Here are some additional reasons why I am choosing to use Pampers Easy Ups for potty training:
Pampers Easy Ups have fewer leaks than the other leading training pant to help simplify and improve the overall potty training experience.
Pampers Easy Ups have an absorbent core that holds 25% more than the other leading training pant to help ensure little ones remain dry.
Pampers Easy Ups provide up to 12 hours of protection.
I’m really excited to start potty training Kayleigh now, with the help of Pampers Easy Ups. I really think that they will help make the transition so much easier for both of us.

It’s no secret that babies need a lot of stuff. I remember creating my baby registry when I was pregnant with Kayleigh, and feeling overwhelmed by just how much stuff she needed.
One of the most important items on my registry was, of course, the car seat. The car seat is hands down one of the most important purchases that parents make, and that’s why I put a lot of thought and research into selecting one that is very safe and user friendly.
I recently gave birth to my son, and I have been using the GB Asana35 AP Car Seat for a little over a month now. I absolutely love it this car seat! Not only is it stylish, but it has a unique 3-way FirmFit System that gives me the ultimate peace of mind. It is seriously so easy to use and install, which is a must for me, as it’s hard enough to get a toddler and an infant into the car at the same time.

If you have a fun event coming up with guests you want to entertain, there is no better way to be the host of the season than by treating your guests to a cocktail. One very popular cocktail with an old vintage twist is the Fashioned in Oaxaca cocktail. It comes from New York thanks to the creator Phil Ward, a barman who wanted to add a unique touch to a classic. Its origin already gives it a cosmopolitan feel. The name speaks for itself, so before you even begin make sure you have an old fashioned glass in appearance to serve it in. This drink needs to look as good as it will taste. In comparison to Old Fashioned, which has a real American feel and ingredients, Fashioned in Oaxaca is a Mexican spinoff. It is named after one of Mexican states and logically, it has tequila inside of it, substituting US whiskey. Besides that, it also has agave nectar instead of sugar as well as mezcal. All this together, gives a real, Mexican touch to the concoction. You can find both Old Fashioned and Fashioned in Oaxaca in D.W. Alexander, one of the well-known Toronto bars.
1.5 ounces reposado tequila
0.5 ounces mezcal
1 teaspon agave nectar
1 dash Angostura bitters
Preparation of this drink is much different from Old Fashioned’s preparation. You will need to combine all the ingredients into a shaker filled with ice. Shake until the drink is chilled. Strain into a glass filled with ice. This is where it gets interesting. Take orange peel in one hand and a match in other. Put the peel above lighted match and squeeze it. When the juice touches the flames, put the peel in the drink and serve it.
This cocktail is a hidden gem that will no doubt give your taste buds quite a treat. Plus it is very easy to make at home with all the right ingredients and some careful preparation. You won’t need to go to New York at all, the perfect atmosphere can be created in your own home with some Fashioned in Oaxaca cocktails by your side, which will lead to an unforgettable evening.

It has been a brutal winter here in Maine. We got hammered with snow this year, and I cannot wait for spring to finally get here! My yard is still buried under snow, unfortunately, but I didn’t let that stop me from doing some spring clothes shopping for the kids. It was actually really fun and therapeutic for me.
I am a stay at home Mom to an almost 2 year old, and a 4 week old, so I prefer to do my clothes shopping online. There are so many places to shop for kids’ clothing online, but I always shop at one store first, and that’s Carter’s. I can usually find everything I am looking for there, and at amazing prices, too.
I was very pleased with the selection of spring clothing that Carter’s has to offer right now. Spring weather in Maine is still on the chilly side most days, so I bought a lot of 3-piece outfits that include pants, a long-sleeved shirt and a short-sleeved shirt. I can wear the long-sleeved shirts on the kids on the chilly days and the short-sleeved shirts on the warmer days. It’s perfect!
These outfits are just so adorable. I absolutely love the cute little embellishments on the bottoms of the pants.
I always find amazing deals at Carter’s. Would you believe that I got all of these outfits for a total of $99, shipped?! That just blows my mind!
You can snag some great deals right now too, because EVERYTHING in the store is 50% off, now through April 5th. On top of that, you can save an extra 20% on your purchase of $40 or more with the coupon below!
These great deals are perfect for last-minute Easter shopping or getting ready for spring. Carter’s Easter Shop is full of super cute dress-up styles for girls and boys. There, you can shop for Easter dresses, special styles for family photos or egg hunting. Don’t forget the coordinating accessories that will make those outfits “pop”, including shoes, jewelry, bow-ties, belts, bags and hair accessories! There is so much goodness to choose from!
My next shopping session at Carter’s will be for swimwear. I was newly pregnant last summer, and could hardly stand the heat, so Kayleigh and I pretty much hibernated inside with the AC all summer. I really want to make it up to her this summer, and take her outside and let her play in the water. I know she’ll have so much fun!
Carter’s has all the essentials you’ll need to hit the beach, including coordinating swimsuits and towels, in cute designs that also feature sun protection, tees, tanks and shorts, accessories like hats, sunglasses and goggles and protective footwear, including water shoes and flip flops.
Connect with Carter’s on Facebook and Twitter for the latest styles, news and promotions!
