This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks/Bounty.

So, here’s a little secret of mine… I’m a big germophobe.  My husband makes fun of me for washing my hands 100 times a day, and for all of my other OCD cleaning tendencies, but I don’t care.  It’s who I am, and I’m not going to change my ways any time soon!

One thing that really drives me nuts is dirty sponges and dish cloths.  I absolutely cannot clean dishes or my kitchen surfaces with a sponge or dish cloth that has been sitting out for who knows how long, and has who knows what growing on it.

I have been using Bounty paper towels and Dawn dish soap  to clean the dishes that I can’t fit into my dishwasher, as well as my counter tops and other kitchen surfaces, for many years.  It is so easy to grab a paper towel, squirt a bit of Dawn dish soap into it, run it under hot water and wipe up a mess.  I like knowing that the paper towel is CLEAN, and is not just going to spread more germs around my kitchen.

When I found out that there is now a specially designed 2-in-1 product that combines an ultra-durable Bounty paper towel with grease-fighting power of Dawn dish soap, I was beyond thrilled.  I feel like I should have marketed this idea years ago!

Bounty with Dawn

When activated by water, Bounty with Dawn stands up to tough messes like grease and dried food residue.  I put these cool new paper towels to the test after making a yummy Chocolate-Crazed Sundae.

Chocolate-Crazed Sundae

This Sundae had LOTS of chocolate syrup in it, which of course left a big mess in my bowl when I was done eating.  What made it even worse, is that I was interrupted by my kids before I could wash it, so the syrupy mess dried onto the bowl pretty good.   The Bounty with Dawn cleaned the dried on chocolate syrup with no problem at all!

I also tried using the Bounty with Dawn to wash down my dirty counter tops and kitchen table, and it worked wonderfully!   I even cleaned Kayleigh’s high chair tray off, which is often times one of the biggest messes in my home, with very little effort.

Bounty with Dawn is the thickest, strongest Bounty available on the market, with 70% more fibers in each sheet and clothlike durability to stay intact while cleaning.  Bounty with Dawn can even be reused.  All you have to do is simply rinse and wring the grease out to keep tackling any mess with just one sheet!

The grease-fighting power of Dawn combined with the strength of Bounty cleans 4x better than a used dishcloth.

You can find Bounty with Dawn at Walmart, which is great, because you can do all of your shopping right in one place!  Connect with Bounty with Dawn on Facebook and Twitter for more information, and to get the latest news and promotions.

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Fellowes Brands. I received a product sample to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

John and I reached some pretty big milestones last year.  We got married, purchased our first home, and found out that I was pregnant with our second child!

Along with all of these milestones came a mountain of paperwork.  After taking out a mortgage on the house, we got bombarded with unsolicited credit card offers and offers for homeowner’s insurance quotes, etc.  I absolutely loathe junk mail, and now that we are homeowners, we get a ton of it!

After I found out I was pregnant, I started receiving medical bills in the mail too.  Paper medical bills are really unnecessary, as I have an online account with my hospital, where I can view and pay them any time I want.  It doesn’t stop the paper bills from coming though.

I really hate having all of this paperwork scattered around our home.  It contains so much personal information that I don’t want others to see, and I can’t just throw it away in the trash because of that.

Luckily, we got the Fellowes M-12C shredder last year, and it has really helped us to keep the paper clutter away, and dispose of our confidential paperwork in a safe manner.

If you know someone who is getting married or buying a home this year, the Fellowes M-12C shredder is an excellent gift idea.  I always like to give practical gifts that I know people will actually get use out of, and the Fellowes M-12C shredder definitely fits the bill!

Here are a few reasons why the Fellowes M-12C shredder is the perfect shredder for at-home use:

  1. With its slim profile design, the Fellowes M-12C shredder doesn’t take up a lot of room.  Our home is only 960 square feet, so we really can’t afford to lose all of that valuable space.
  2. The Fellowes M-12C shredder has cross-cut blades that destroy 12 sheets of paper into approximately 302 particles per sheet for greater security.
  3. I have a very busy and curious toddler, so the SafeSense® Technology of the Fellowes M-12C shredder is very important to me.  It automatically disables the shredder when there are hands touching the paper opening.
  4. The Fellowes M-12C shredder can shred more than just paper!  It can also shred shred credit cards, paper clips, and staples!
  5. You can run the Fellowes M-12C shredder for a full 5 minutes before its automatic cool down starts.  I can get a lot of shredding done in 5 minutes!

Want to know where you can find this awesome gift idea?  You can purchase the M-12C at Target Stores nationwide and, for the suggested retail price of $99.99.

Give the gift of organization and security this year.  It’s sure to be one of the most useful and memorable gifts any newlywed or new homeowner will receive!

One of my favorite things about living in the State of Maine, is the food.  There are so many unique foods here, and us Mainers really know how to cook!  Some of my favorite foods that are rather unique to Maine are lobster, of course, fiddleheads, whoopie pies, and even Moxie soda.

Another food that is fairly unique to Maine, is the red hot dog.  I’ll never forget the time I was in the deli section at my local grocery store, and a group of girls, obviously not from around here, gathered around the hot dog section, completely in awe of the red hot dogs.  They had never seen them before and were very intrigued.  I grew up eating red hot dogs, so I found their reaction to be quite humorous.

Red Hot Dog

Red hot dogs are so popular here, that a local restaurant even created a special egg roll filled with a red hot dog and fixings.  How clever is that?!  We sure do love to experiment with our foods here, and the end result is usually very good.

We usually serve our red hot dogs with a few different sides – baked beans. coleslaw, or the ever popular Lay’s potato chip.

Red Hot Dog

When I heard the Lay’s brand was doing their “Do Us A Flavor” contest again, my mind immediately turned to red hot dogs.  The two already pair so well together, that I really think a red hot dog flavored potato chip would be amazing!  Of course, it would also  have to have the traditional Maine toppings of onions and mustard, too.

I’ve created my flavor, now it’s time for you to create yours!  There is a $1 million grand prize for the best potato chip flavor idea.  How awesome would that be?!

Your chip flavor should be inspired by a city/state.  Later this year, four delicious finalist flavors – representing flavorful cities and towns across the U.S. – will be fully developed, brought to store shelves and voted on by America.

Lay's Potato Chip
