This review and giveaway was made possible by Double Duty Divas and Febreze. I was compensated for my participation in this campaign, but all opinions are 100% mine.

I love having guests over for dinner, to play games, or for a movie night, but I often worry about how my house smells to outsiders when they visit.  We have two cats and a toddler still in diapers, so it can get pretty smelly in here sometimes, especially during the hot summer months when odors seems to linger.

It’s very easy to become “Noseblind” to the smells in your own home, since you are there all the time and become accustomed to them.  For visitors, though, it’s easier to pick up on all of the not so pleasant odors that may be lurking in your home.

I recently hosted a movie night at my house with my sister and her boyfriend.  Febreze sent me a package of their Meadows and Rain products to eliminate the odors in my house, but first, we all had to take a survey about the odors in my home.  Boy, was I nervous!  I didn’t see their results, but I was really afraid that they might have smelled my cats or toddler, or the Chinese food we had for dinner before they came over.

Febreze Products

After the survey, I popped some popcorn.  What’s a movie night without popcorn, right?  Well, we all know how strong of a smell popcorn makes.  Once you pop a bag of popcorn, the smell just completely takes over the whole house.  We were then asked to take another survey, and I’m sure that everyone could only smell the popcorn at that point.

We watched our movie, and then at the end of it, we were asked to take another survey.  By then, we had become accustomed to the smell of popcorn, and while it still lingered in the house, it wasn’t as powerful and obvious as it had been after I had just popped it.  I wondered if my guests had started to smell cat or toddler smells again.

Finally, I broke out the Febreze products, and within just a couple of minutes, my house was smelling fresh and clean, and I couldn’t smell the popcorn, or anything but pleasant scents anymore.  We were asked to take another survey, and I am sure my guests could only smell the wonderful Febreze scents at the point, too.  Febreze completely eliminates odors instead of just covering them up!

Febreze SprayWhat about you?  Have you ever noticed that you have gotten used to a smell?  You can take the Noseblind Test for yourself here.  Don’t forget to follow Febreze on Twitter and Facebook, too!
