I love going out to the local Indian restaurants for a delicious meal, but these days I've just been too busy to find the time. I thought I would try making Indian food at home, but I was quickly overwhelmed by all of the ingredients, and how time consuming it was.
Luckily, Tasty Bite offers several ready-to-eat Indian entrées, that make cooking Indian food at home a breeze! Tasty Bite was established in 1995, and they now feature over 40 products, including Indian, Asian and rice products. I was lucky enough to sample a few of these myself recently.
Now, you may think that because these entrées are pre-packaged, that they are loaded with preservatives, MSG and artificial ingredients, but that's just not the case. Tasty Bite only uses real, non-GMO ingredients that you can actually pronounce.
Tonight, I set out to prepare an Indian meal at home, using the Indian entrées I had received from Tasty Bite – Bombay Potatoes, Madras Lentils and Tandoori Rice. I decided to make Madras Lentils Baked Potatoes, a recipe found on Tasty Bite's website, and serve them alongside the Tandoori Rice and Bombay Potatoes.
While the potatoes did take a while to bake, the remainder of my meal was done in only 5 minutes! I simply baked the potatoes ahead of time, so that when we were ready to sit down to dinner, all I had left to prepare was the Tasty Bite entrées.
To prepare the Tasty Bite entrées, you simply place the packages in boiling water for 5 minutes, and then they're done! What could possibly be easier than that?! Oh wait, you can also cook them in the microwave for only 90 seconds! Seriously, this is so easy.
After my Tasty Bite entrées were nice and hot, I dished them out on my plate. I split open my baked potato and poured the Madras Lentils down on top, added a dollop of sour cream, and a sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese. I added a slice of Naan bread too, which went great with the Bombay Potatoes. Yum!
John and I both really enjoyed all of the Tasty Bite entrées. They were very flavorful, and you'd never know they came from a ready-to-eat pouch if you didn't make them yourself!
