My sister’s baby shower was last month, and I wanted to do something extra special for her.  She has always loved owls, and collects different owl pieces, so I thought I’d make an owl diaper cake for her shower.  I thought about doing a traditional diaper cake, and using owl themed items to decorate it, but then I saw a tutorial on youtube for a diaper cake that actually looks like an owl, and I knew I just had to make one for her!

Owl Diaper Cake Tutorial

This owl diaper cake is actually very easy to make, and doesn’t require a whole lot of materials.  I was able to make two of them in a matter of about 20 minutes.  The first one was so fun, and came out so cute, that I just had to make another!

The video below is the tutorial I used to make these owls.  I followed the tutorial step-by-step for the most part, and made just a slight change to my owls (I made wings from the receiving blanket, instead of using additional wash cloths).

Make one (or two!) of these for the next baby shower you go to, and it’s sure to be the talk of the party! Everyone went crazy over mine!  This is one of those crafts that even the most craft-challenged people can do, but it will make you look like you are a crafty genius!

Who will you make this owl diaper cake for?
