I have suffered from sinus pain off and on for most of my adult life. You know, that feeling of pain and pressure around your nose and under your eyes, often times accompanied by a headache and runny nose. Ick. That kind of pain just makes me feel completely miserable. All I want to do when sinus pain and pressure strike, is lay on the couch or sleep the day away.
I Wish I Could Have This Day Back To Do Over…
I remember one time in particular that I was suffering from sinus pain, and it completely ruined my day. John and I had just started dating. It was a gorgeous day in late October. The sun was shining, there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, and there was just a slight fall chill in the air. It was perfect.
John asked me to go on a day trip to Acadia National Park with him. Acadia National Park has been one of my favorite places to travel to since I was a child, and it was about to close up for the season. Normally, I would have jumped at the chance to travel there for the day, to soak up the last little bit of nice weather before the snow came, to hike the trails and take in the beautiful ocean views. That day, however, I just wasn’t feeling up to it. I knew the grass, trees and ocean air were not going to help with my sinuses, and I wouldn’t have been able to enjoy myself. So, instead of going on a fun ride to one of my favorite places in the world, with my future fiance, I stayed home and laid on the couch all day. Opportunity wasted.
Has there ever been a time when your sinuses kept you from doing something fun? What if you had the chance for a do-over?
