Last month, John and I took Kayleigh to the apple orchard for the first time.  We had a lot of fun picking apples, and came home with 2 big bags full of them.  That same weekend, I spent a couple of hours baking up some apple goodies.  I just love baking with apples, don’t you?!

First, I baked up a batch of Apple Oatmeal Cookies, recipe courtesy of Deelicious Sweets.  These cookies were so simple to whip up, and they came out great!  They have a very strong cinnamon & nutmeg flavor to them, and I love the chunks of apples throughout.   They were really soft and moist too!

I brought these cookies up to my parents’ house when John went away to Boston, and they were gone in one night!

After I baked those scrumptious cookies, I was still in a baking mood, so I decided to try out a Butter Crumble Apple Pie from The Country Cook.

I love this recipe because the pie crust is no-fuss.  Most of the time I avoid baking pies simply because I don’t want to deal with making the crust.  The bottom crust of this pie is The Country Cook’s Wham Bam Pie Crust – super easy!!

John really loved this pie.  It was gone in just a couple of days!

You can find these recipes and many more in my 100 Fall Harvest Recipes post.  Enjoy!!

Have you done any baking with apples yet this fall?

  2. That pie looks delicious! I love apple pie (never make the crust), but it can be time consuming.

I just made apple pie puffs with pastry dough. This week was into pumpkin.

  3. The topping on the apple pie looks crazy good!
