As you already may know, since I’ve posted about it a million times now, Kayleigh has been teething since she turned 2 months old. It’s been a pretty rough time for all of us in the house. I can tell her gums really hurt her a lot of the time, and it just breaks my heart to see her in so much pain. This post contains affiliate links. Kayleigh loves chewing on her fingers for some pain relief, and when she sits in my lap, she chews on mine. We’ve tried giving her many different kinds of teethers, but with her being so young, her fine motor skills aren’t really all that great yet, so she has a hard time hanging onto them, and bringing them up to her mouth. After an online search, I came across Sophie the Giraffe Teether, and I just had to get it for Kayleigh. Sophie arrived in a pretty box, which would be great for gift giving!
Sophie the Giraffe Teether
Sophie is made from 100% natural rubber and food paint, and is Phthalates and BPA free, so it is completely safe for her to put in her mouth.
Sophie has a long neck, which makes it easy for Kayleigh to pick her up and hold onto her for extended periods of time. She also has long, skinny legs, which Kayleigh loves to chew on. Sophie is very soft and flexible, and has dark contrasting spots all over, making it easy for Kayleigh to recognize her.
Kayleigh also likes the fact that Sophie squeaks. She can’t squeeze her hard enough to make her squeak yet, but she laughs up a storm when I do it for her.
Sophie is a bit on the pricey side for a teether, BUT, I truly think she is worth it. Sophie has excellent reviews on Amazon, and a lot of them have said that she will last for a very long time. I know Kayleigh will be teething for a long time to come, so she’ll get a lot of use out of Sophie. Giving Kayleigh a little teething buddy to help her through this rough period is well worth the $20.00 out of my pocket.
Vulli has also recently come out with the So’ Pure Teether, which is very similar to Sophie, but has easy to grab handles on the sides. This one is priced a bit lower.
Do your kids have a favorite teether? Do you think they’d like Sophie the Giraffe?
