I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
It’s Back-to-School time already, can’t you believe it?! This summer has completely flown by. Kayleigh is obviously not going to school this year, she’s only 3 months old, but I have a lot of friends who are getting their school-aged children ready to go back. It’s just a fun and exciting time for kids, and their parents too!
Don’t forget to take that “First Day of School” photo! Your kids will look back on those with fond memories. Here’s a picture of my best friend Terri, and I, on our first day of school one year. I think this was either 3rd or 4th grade, I can’t remember which. I’m the one on the right. Check out those awesome pants, and our gorgeous hairdos! Gotta love the 80’s! I certainly don’t miss that mullet…I’m also fairly certain we are both wearing neon socks!
While Back-to-School should be an exciting time for everyone, it’s not always. Many families are in need of school supplies, and Back-to-School time can be very stressful. From basic supplies like notebooks and pens, to clothing and backpacks, the expenses can add up really fast. And for families that have more than one child going back to school, it can seem almost impossible to get everything they need.
Did you know that 1 million students fail to graduate high school? This is exactly why it is so important to support today’s youth.
This Back-to-School season, Boys & Girls Club of America (BGCA) and their long-time partner, Disney, have launched an online supply drive, and you can help! By simply playing a pop-quiz style game, you can help donate school supplies to local BGCA Clubs. For every five correct answers, a donation of supplies will be made! You will also find many helpful back to school tips.
With a way to donate this easily, why not help these needy families out? It will only take a few minutes of your time, and you don’t even have to leave your house to do it! Let’s all do our part to make sure today’s kids get all the supplies they need to go back to school, and take the stress off their parents.
