After a very difficult pregnancy, my youngest sister, Amber, gave birth to her daughter, Morgan, on Sunday, August 4th! Amber struggled with gestational diabetes, excessive swelling and high blood pressure throughout her pregnancy. She was put on bed rest at 34 weeks. She developed preeclampsia and delivered Morgan at exactly 35 weeks.
Despite being a bit premature, Morgan is doing very well! She weighed 5 pounds exactly at birth, and is 18.5″ long. She is doing so well, that she was moved from the NICU to the regular nursery yesterday! They have also taken her feeding tube out, and Amber is able to bottle feed her.
Morgan is in a hospital 2.5 hours away from me, so I have not had a chance to see her in person yet. Hopefully next week I will be able to. I cannot wait to hold her! Seeing pictures of that tiny baby makes me miss those first few days after Kayleigh was born. I’m so glad that Kayleigh will have a little playmate!
